Which garden table to choose ?

Table de jardin Amalfi

Summer is here! And summer means moments of relaxation outdoors, in the sun. Among our favorites, meals on the terrace, of course.

The garden table is essential for enjoying the outdoors, with family or friends. But how to choose it well? How many seats, what shape, fixed or extendable, which materials, etc.?

We provide you with all our advice to choose your ideal garden table!

Which material?

One of the criteria to consider when choosing your garden table is its material. Although garden tables are designed to withstand sun and weather, you have a wide range of material choices available, depending on your tastes but also on where you live.

"Plastic" materials such as PVC or polypropylene, for example. This material has the advantage of being easy to maintain since a simple cloth with a little water is enough to clean and care for your table. It is also a lightweight material, allowing you to move it easily according to your needs and desires. It is a good option for small budgets.

Metal, generally meaning: steel, aluminum, or wrought iron.
Aluminum is the most suitable material of the three for outdoor use since it does not rust. It is also easy to maintain as it requires no special care while being extremely resistant to UV rays and weather.

Wood is becoming increasingly popular for its natural look. However, it will require some maintenance. It is indeed recommended to varnish your table every year to extend its lifespan.

Ceramic is also widely used for table tops and is particularly resistant to weather and sun. Moreover, you can cut your bread directly on the table, for example, since ceramic does not scratch.

Cemented composite is an increasingly trendy material and is appreciated for its ease of maintenance and resistance to sun exposure, weather conditions, and also shock resistance.

Which shape?

Round, square, rectangular, there are different shapes of garden tables to suit your needs and desires.

Round and square tables generally seat 2 to 6 people and are therefore particularly suitable for small spaces. However, on a balcony, prefer a rectangular table so you can easily place it against the wall or railing.

The largest gatherings are found on rectangular tables since they can seat up to 12 people. Rectangular tables also offer extension systems.

Extendable table or fixed table?

Depending on the size of your outdoor space, an extendable table is a good way to save space when you don't have many guests while allowing you to accommodate up to 12 people occasionally. They are therefore particularly adaptable depending on your spaces and your guests.

Our extendable tables seat from 8 to 12 people and measure from 90 to 320 cm in length.

Fixed tables are often more design-oriented; they can be round, oval, square, rectangular. The possibilities are broader than for extendable tables.

Our fixed tables seat from 4 to 10 people and measure from 70 to 260 cm in length.

Which chairs to accompany your table?

There are chairs (without armrests) and armchairs (with armrests). Prefer chairs if you want to save space around the table.

It is also important to ensure that your garden chairs or armchairs are stackable if you want to store them to save space at the end of the season.

As for the material, you can perfectly coordinate your chairs with the material of your table or play with a mix of materials. Wood and aluminum, for example, work very well.
